STATEMENT OF WORK
South Idaho Fire Zone Truck Outfitting of Light Fleet
Pocatello, ID
1. General:
The South Idaho Fire Zone, Southeast Idaho Refuge Complex, PO Box 3079; Pocatello, ID 83206- 3079 requires a vendor to perform outfitting of three trucks with various items to make them more functional for wildland fire response, and prescribed fire operations.
1.2 Purpose/End Application:
-Two 2024 Chevrolet 3500 pickups need to be outfitted for increased functionality for wildland fire response and prescribed fire operations.
-One 2016 Chevrolet HD 2500 pickup is being repurposed as an unmanned ariel system support vehicle and needs additional equipment installed.
All three trucks need new appropriate off-road tires.
These trucks are used to support prescribed fire and fire suppression activities and will see hard duty use in these environments.
1.3 Contractor Qualifications:
Contractor will need to be able to source camper shells, tonneau covers, headache racks, tool boxes, in-bed cargo slide systems, seat covers, running boards, in-bed tool boxes, scene lights, air-spring kits for extra towing capacity, brush guards, winches, and off-road tires.
Contractor will need to be able to intall the above supplies.
2. Period of Performance
The period of performance shall be Contract award - 12/1/2024. Limitations include supply availability, coordination of various specifics included in the contract, required use of the trucks for field operations (mainly from September 1 through October 31). Idaho Fire Zone will need to have the trucks during the burn season (September 15- November 1). Work will not be done at this time. Scheduled installation will take place either before September 15 or after November 1. If this scheduling changes, fire management will contact the contractor and notify of truck availability.
2.1Normal duty hours Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In the event of emergencies, Contractor shall provide contact information.
2.2 Nonduty hours include week nights, weekends, and Government holidays (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).
3. Scope
3.1 Contractor will order required equipment and install the equipment on the vehicle, including all necessary and ideal hardware maximize compatibility of systems. Contactor will also collaborate with fire management to locate the installation of the interior control panel for the rear air spring kit and air take-off attachment, and exterior scene lighting.

4.1 Type of documentation
All owners' manuals for equipment purchased through the contractor will be provided to fire management prior to contract completion.
5. Limitations.
Limitations include location of switches of the interior controls of the air spring kit so that the vehicle operator can reach it efficiently while operating the vehicle.
6. Evaluation and Acceptance
Evaluation will include an inspection that all equipment is installed appropriately according to policy and fire management direction. A demonstration test will be performed to ensure that each piece of equipment is compatible with each other and a test that the air spring kit functions normally.
8. Quality Control/Quality Assurance:
Quality of work will be assessed by checking to see if all equipment is operational and compatible with each other prior to closing the contract.
