About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics attachment (Attachment 1) specifying the technical requirements for federal contract F3G2AG6230A001, which procures a dual-source laser engraving and cutting system for delivery to Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
The system must feature two independent laser sources: a minimum 120-watt CO2 laser (air-cooled, 10.6 micrometers wavelength) and a minimum 60-watt fiber laser (air-cooled, 1065 nm wavelength). The equipment shall provide a minimum engraving area of 48 inches by 36 inches with the capability to accommodate materials up to 12 inches thick. Performance specifications require a maximum engraving speed of at least 165 inches per second with minimum 5G acceleration, utilizing brushless DC servo motors for precision motion control. Operational features must include an integrated overhead camera system for real-time positioning, connectivity via Ethernet/USB/Wireless, an integrated touch screen interface, and automatic focus capability. The system must be delivered with specified accessories including two rotary attachments (3-jaw chuck and rim-style), three work tables (task plate, slat table double kit, and vector grid double kit), a 110V external air compressor for air assist, an exhaust filtration unit with connection cables, and one 4-inch lens for cutting thicker materials. The vendor must provide a minimum two-year manufacturer's warranty covering all parts and deliver 4 to 6 hours of on-site installation and operator training. Delivery is required to Nellis Air Force Base, NV 89191, on or before December 31, 2026.

Attachment 1 - Salient Characteristics F3G2AG6230A001 - Laser Engraving and Cutting System
1. LASER SOURCES: The system must be equipped with two independent laser sources:
CO2 Laser: Minimum 120-watt power, air-cooled, metal/ceramic waveguide tube, operating at a 10.6 micrometers wavelength.
Fiber Laser: Minimum 60-watt power, air-cooled, operating at a 1065 nm wavelength.
2. WORK AREA & MATERIAL ACCOMMODATION:
The system shall provide a minimum engraving area of 48 inches (1219 mm) in the X-axis by 36 inches (914 mm) in the Y-axis.
The system must accommodate materials with a minimum thickness of 12 inches (305 mm).
3. PERFORMANCE:
The system shall be capable of a maximum engraving speed of at least 165 inches per second (IPS) with a minimum of 5G acceleration.
Motion control system must utilize brushless DC servo motors for high-speed performance and precision.
4. OPERATIONAL FEATURES:
Camera System: Must include an integrated overhead camera system that provides a real-time image of the work area on-screen, allowing an operator to drag and drop artwork onto the material for exact positioning.
Connectivity: Must provide connectivity via Ethernet, USB, and Wireless methods.
User Interface: Shall include an integrated touch screen at the laser for file management, setting adjustments, and job control.
Auto Focus: The system must be equipped with an auto-focus mechanism to automatically set the correct focal distance to the material surface.
5. INCLUDED ACCESSORIES & COMPONENTS: The following components must be included with the system:
Rotary Attachments:
One (1) 3-Jaw Chuck style rotary attachment for precise alignment of cylindrical or irregularly shaped items.
One (1) Rim-Style rotary attachment for engraving tapered items such as glasses and mugs.
Work Tables:
One (1) Task Plate for general purpose engraving.
One (1) Slat Table Double Kit for cutting large materials.
One (1) Vector Grid Double Kit for cutting smaller materials.
Air Assist System: An external air compressor (110V) must be included to provide a constant stream of air to the cutting area, removing heat and combustible gases.
Exhaust Filtration: A compatible filter/fume extraction unit and all necessary connection cables must be included for internal air filtration.
Lenses: One (1) 4-inch lens suitable for cutting thicker materials.
6. WARRANTY & TRAINING:
Warranty: The system must come with a minimum two-year manufacturer's warranty covering all parts.
Training: The vendor must provide a minimum of four (4) to six (6) hours of on-site installation and operator training.
7. DELIVERY:
Delivery to Nellis Air Force Base, NV 89191, on or before 12/31/2026.
