About this file
This document is a technical specification for a mobile concrete batch plant required by the U.S. Air Force.
The specification requires a self-erecting mobile concrete batch plant capable of producing 180-250 cubic yards per hour of quality concrete with an overall weight of 80,000 pounds, length of 60 feet (king pin to rear), width of 12 feet, and height of 14 feet 6 inches. The plant must include a 10-12 cubic yard drum mixer, three aggregate bins with minimum capacity of 47 cubic yards (64 tons), a 2,000 cubic foot cement silo (57 tons), a 12 cubic yard cement batcher, multi-flight cement feeders (twin 12-inch, 25 horsepower, 240 CFM), and a minimum 20 horsepower 120-gallon electric air compressor. The aggregate conveyor must be 40 feet by 30 inches with heavy duty belt and 12 horsepower drive motor. The batcher/discharge system requires a 12-yard capacity with 10,000-pound load, 10-inch butterfly valve, and raisable rubber boot. The control station must include HVAC, 125 VAC power, and clearly labeled illuminated controls. Electrical specifications include 460V/3-phase/60Hz prewired in EMT conduit with 4-point load cells (3,000 pounds each) and bin level indicators. The prime carrier must meet Department of Transportation requirements with heavy duty frame, 5th wheel/king pin connection, and front landing gear.
The chassis must feature double axles as engineered, DOT lighting, ABS air braking system, triple axle, 10-hole wheels, and Duramax Radial E3/L3 tires (or equal/greater). The suspension requires heavy duty construction with shock absorption and road-rated heavy-duty tires meeting DOT fender requirements. Safety requirements include a minimum of six (12) 2000-lumen quartz halogen flood lights with red light night operation capability, eight integrated tie-down locations per side (ATTLA certified), clearly labeled lifting points, slip-resistant steps and ladders, and accessible major components for maintenance. Paint and corrosion protection must include automotive grade primer, military grade rustproofing complying with MIL-PRF-16173 Grade 4 and MIL-C-83933, and minimum 5-year corrosion protection life expectancy. Welding must comply with American Welding Society standards. The manufacturer must provide a 5-year warranty, initial operator and maintenance training (minimum 40 hours each on-site), complete parts and service manuals with diagnostic troubleshooting software, 24-month warranty service coverage, bi-annual maintenance, annual inspections, 24/7 technical support, and military data plates with specified nomenclature information. All software must be Windows 10 (64-bit) compatible and free of vulnerabilities.
