About this file
This document is a specifications and construction manual for an asphalt batch plant used to produce Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) for road paving applications.
The document describes two primary configurations: a standard asphalt batch plant with basic components, and a mobile/portable asphalt plant designed for transportability. The mobile asphalt plant is the primary focus and features an output capacity of 140-160 metric tons per hour with capability to incorporate reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) at 30-50% mixing rates. The plant is constructed on two independent chassis: Chassis One contains four feed hoppers, a drying drum, and automatic burner; Chassis Two carries the vertical elevator, screening, weighing and mixing tower, control cabin, and filtration systems. Installation and self-erection are achievable within four hours. Key specifications include a 5.0 cubic yard minimum main hopper capacity, 90-ton-per-hour elevator capacity, 80-ton-per-hour drying drum capacity, and 2,200-pound paddle mixer capacity. The bitumen/asphalt cement storage tank has a minimum 25,000-gallon capacity with thermostatically controlled heating and integral pump systems capable of 7,400-8,200 gallons per hour. The control station is equipped with HVAC, 125 VAC power, and clearly labeled illuminated controls. Safety features include minimum 12 flood lights rated at 2,000 lumens each, eight tie-down locations per side per ATTLA certification, and slip-resistant steps and ladders. The equipment requires military-grade rustproofing with minimum 5-year corrosion protection, AWS-compliant welding standards, and includes a 5-year warranty plan. Support includes initial 40-hour on-site operator and maintenance training, 24-month warranty service coverage, diagnostic software compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit), bi-annual maintenance, annual inspections, 24/7 technical support, and complete parts and service manuals with troubleshooting capability for all components.
