About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document for federal contract FA460426Q7002 specifying requirements for forklift ramps. The government is procuring three portable forklift ramp systems, with delivery required no later than 20 days after contract award.

The forklift ramps must meet the following specifications: minimum load capacity of 30,000 pounds to support continuous forklift and industrial truck traffic; a two-component integrated system consisting of approximately 20-foot deck and 20-foot ramp (not exceeding 40 feet total ramp length); overall width of approximately 95 inches to accommodate standard warehouse forklifts; adjustable deck height with mechanical adjustment capability (or equivalent non-powered method) ranging from 32 inches minimum to 56 inches maximum to interface with standard trailer heights; and portability with mobility features such as tow-bars or forklift pockets enabling repositioning within yards and loading areas on concrete or asphalt surfaces. The system must be compatible with standard warehouse forklifts, rubber-tired industrial trucks, and standard trailers and containers at various dock heights. The equipment is intended to function as a mobile loading dock providing forklift access between ground level and trailers or containers where permanent docks do not exist.
