About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics document for a Crane Simulator, specifying detailed requirements for a training device that mimics mobile hydraulic crane operations. The crane simulator must be manufactured in the United States and includes a comprehensive unit with multi-purpose replica controls, tabletop mounting brackets, a laptop, four 32-inch monitors, software license, and travel case. The simulator provides training simulations for pole placement and corridor movements, with performance measurements tracking task completion time, potential collisions, and safety violations.

The document outlines additional requirements including calibration and maintenance procedures, a 1-year warranty, 24/7 technical support with software updates and remote diagnostic support, and training provisions. The contractor must conduct initial setup training, yearly refresher training, and virtual equipment operator simulation training. The service schedule requires coordination within 6 months of contract award, with the contractor confirming maintenance dates with the government prior to equipment delivery. Shipping costs will be included in the contract, and the simulator is designed to provide a safe, controlled environment for crane operators to practice and improve their skills.
