About this file
This is a Requirements Document for the procurement of a commercial Electrosurgical Unit (ESU) and required accessories by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). The FDA requires one new, unused ESU system with a touchscreen display capable of monitoring tissue impedance at a minimum rate of 434,000 times per second. The equipment must operate at an output frequency between 400 kHz and 500 kHz and support seven specific operating modes: monopolar CUT (Pure and Blend), monopolar COAG (Fulgurate, Spray, and Soft), bipolar coagulation, and vessel sealing. All equipment must comply with applicable Federal, state, and local safety standards and be fully operational upon delivery.
The contractor must provide all accessories necessary for complete operation, including monopolar electrodes with holster and switch, patient return electrodes, bipolar forceps with cord and footswitch, and vessel sealers with switches. Delivery is required within 30 days after contract award, and installation is mandatory at the destination. The contractor shall provide a minimum 12-month manufacturer's warranty covering parts, labor, and service, along with user manuals, technical documentation, warranty documentation, service contact information, and applicable safety data sheets. The warranty period commences upon final acceptance by the Government, which will inspect and accept the equipment at its destination. No trade-in is applicable, and contractor personnel are not required to perform work on designated Federal holidays.
