5. Reasons for Authority Cited:

Current contract W81K00-20-F-0101 provides for the Envella specialty hospital beds for WBAMC and expires 30 September 2021. In order to continue providing for the rental of the specialty hospital beds that are critical to the Department of Defense mission of providing access to patient care, a follow-on contract is required. Hill-Rom, Inc. is the only company that possesses the ability to support the continuation of this requirement at the start date of I October

2021. There are no vendors that provide the full spectrum of the technical requirements as Hill Rom does. It is of note, that they are the sole proprietary for the required bed rentals. Hill-Rom does not authorize any entity to offer rental or distribute their rental fleet on behalf of Hill-Rom.

The current rental of Envella specialty hospital bed meets the critical needs of the patients.

Additionally, other specialty hospital beds by another company would not be compatible with the existing rentals, others don't offer the full coverage as required per the technical specifications and some don't delivery to the local area.
