Questions and Answers for Fire Suppression System Upgrades
1. For items 5.6 and 5.7, the cut sheet provided for the Victaulic sprinklers does not identify the desired temperature rating. Can you please let us know what temperature rating you would like for these sprinklers, 155, 175, 200, 286 degrees F? The cut sheet provided for the concealed sprinklers is for a 155-degree F sprinkler, which I expect is what you’ll want for the others but want to confirm.
a. Answer: For Items 5.6 and 5.7, a 155 degrees F temperature Rating is required.
2. What is the desired finish of the Victaulic sprinklers. White or chrome are likely going to be the preference?
a. Answer: Chrome Finish.
3. Typically, these sprinklers as specified on the attachments provided would not come with escutcheons for the pendent sprinklers or cover plates for the concealed sprinklers. If you review
Attachment 4, the picture of the sprinkler, you’ll see a white cover plate, there’s a similar item for the pendent sprinkler. Those are different part numbers and are required to be ordered separately from the sprinkler itself. We would like to confirm whether GPO will be requiring these to be included with this quote, or are we just purchasing the sprinklers?
a. Answer: Yes, The GPO will require the escutcheons for the pendent sprinklers and cover plates for the concealed sprinklers.
4. Is there a cost estimate, budget or ballpark figure for the project listed?
a. Answer: The Government estimates, and budget are not revealed to interested vendors. There is no “ballpark” figure for the project, the Government uses an
Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) for projects.
