About this file
This is a Performance Work Statement for heat flux sensor calibration services required by the 704th Test Group/846th Test Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base.
The contractor shall perform NIST traceable calibrations on TG-2000-42C Heat Flux Sensors with a resulting accuracy of ±3% or better, performed in accordance with Vatell Corporation procedure MAP002 or an equivalent procedure that meets or exceeds all uncertainty, traceability, and quality standards. Calibration certificates must clearly document scale factor (W/cm²/mV), sensitivity (mV/W/cm²), range (W/cm²), coating, emissivity, resistance (Ohms), ambient temperature at calibration, humidity at calibration, reference standard pyrometer, and any additional documentation verifying proper sensor functionality. The contractor must complete all calibrations and ship the sensors within seven calendar days of receiving equipment at the contractor's facility. Deliverables include all hardware and physical documentation shipped to 846 TS/TGTI, Attn: Dustin Wienand, 1521 Test Track Road, Bldg 1179, Holloman Air Force Base, NM 88330-7850, with digital PDF copies of all calibration certificates and supporting documentation emailed upon shipment to dustin.wienand.3@us.af.mil and robin.senger@us.af.mil. The sensors are used by the Holloman High Speed Test Track Instrumentation Flight to capture critical data points for test mission validation of various avionics platforms, payloads, and equipment for the Department of Defense and its partners.

Heat Flux Sensor Calibration
Performance Work Statement
704th Test Group/846th Test Squadron
8 April 2026
1.0 PURPOSE
The 846th Test Squadron’s (846 TS) primary test capability is the Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) where rocket powered sled trains are utilized to simulate flight-like environments and scenarios with the control and recovery of a ground-based system. Calibrated sensors are required for test mission validation of various avionics platforms, payloads, and equipment for the Department of Defense in conjunction with its partners over a number of differing rocket sled configurations. The HHSTT Instrumentation Flight uses TG-2000-42C Heat Flux Sensors to capture critical data points.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 The contractor shall perform NIST traceable calibrations on each Heat Flux Sensor, model TG-2000-42C, with a resulting accuracy of ±3% or better. The calibration shall be performed in accordance with Vatell Corporation procedure MAP002. An equivalent procedure may be used provided it is fully documented and meets or exceeds all uncertainty, traceability, and quality standards of MAP002.
2.2 Provide NIST traceable calibration certificates that clearly state the following parameters for each calibrated sensor:
a. Scale Factor in W / cm² / mV
b. Sensitivity in mV / W / cm²
c. Range in W / cm²
d. Coating
e. Emissivity
f. Resistance in Ohms
g. Ambient Temperature at calibration
h. Humidity at calibration
i. Reference Standarad Pyrometer
j. Any additional documentation to verify proper functionality of sensors
3.0 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
The contractor shall complete all calibrations and ship the sensors within seven (7) calendar days of receiving the equipment at the contractor's facility.
4.0 DELIVERABLES
4.1 The contractor shall deliver all hardware and physical documentation to the following address:
846 TS/TGTI
Attn: Dustin Wienand 1521 Test Track Road, Bldg 1179 Holloman Air Force Base, NM 88330-7850
4.2 Upon shipment, the contractor shall email digital (.pdf) copies of all calibration certificates and supporting documentation to the primary point of contact, dustin.wienand.3@us.af.mil and robin.senger@us.af.mil.
