Species include all FL-EPPC and state listed Category 1 & 2 non-native invasive plants. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and non-personal services necessary to perform work services as defmed in this Performance Work Statement except; for those items specified as government furnished property and services. The Contractor shall perform to the standards specified in this contract.

1.2 Introduction:

The Contractor shall chemically treat and leave in place all non-native invasive vegetation, excluding Australian Pine, including FL-EPPC and state-listed Category 1 & 2 non-native invasive plants, using ground (herbicide) treatment methodologies except for the treatment of Australian Pine which shall be mechanically treated (felled) and removed to pre-identified staging areas in the delineated area or mulched in place. This project consists of 2 separate treatment units within the Wulfert Tract, a 68-acre parcel of mixed uplands and wetlands, and the treatment units are each approximately 20 acres in size. The Contractor shall treat 100% of non-native invasive vegetation and shall achieve a 95% control rate - applies to all treatment methodologies as specified in this contract.

1.3 Period of Performance:

The period of performance shall commence in:::; 30 days (1 month) following issuance of the order and notification to begin work and shall be completed in:::; 120 days (6 months) once work begins.

1.4 Place of Performance:

The work will be conducted on the J.N. "Ding" Darling NWR located near Fort Myers, Florida. Specifically work will be conducted on the refuge's Wulfert Tract unit which encompasses 68 acres of upland and wetland habitats.

The 2 specific treatment units for this project are approximately 20 acres each and are within the upland portions of this management unit (Figure 3). The uplands portion of this unit is currently dominated by typical West Indian Hardwood Hammock species with dense strands of Australian Pine, developing infestations of castor bean, Brazilian pepper, rosary pea, carrotwood, bowstring hemp, papaya, and other Categories I & II species of plant.

These treatment units were severely impacted by the landfall of Hurricane Ian in September 2022. The resulting damages have left the area with large amounts of fallen timber and accessing these areas is challenging and it is recommended that potential bidders schedule a site visit prior to submission of proposals and bids. The Refuge will identify access points and pathways prior to work commencing. These pathways shall be used by the contractor to access areas for mechanical treatment and the removal of Australian pine downfall and felled trees to staging areas within the boundaries of Treatment Area #1. The mechanically treated Australian pines within the boundaries of Treatment Area #2 shall be mulched in place.

1.5 Type of Contract:

This is a Firm Fixed Price purchase order.

1.6 Security Requirements: n/a

1.6 Physical Security:
