About this file
This document is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a Biosero Mobile Robot and Green Button Go software from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on behalf of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), Division of Preclinical Innovation (DPI).
The requirement is for a mobile robot to be integrated into chemistry workflows to automate sample handling and transfer within the ASPIRE project. The RFQ is a non-competitive, brand-name acquisition from Biosero Inc., the original manufacturer of the Biosero Mobile Robot, for a software update and installation. The anticipated period of performance is June 28, 2024 through June 27, 2025, with a firm-fixed price contract anticipated. Responses are due by June 24, 2024 and must include information on technical capability, pricing, and past performance. The solicitation incorporates various FAR provisions and clauses, including requirements for representations on telecommunications and video surveillance equipment.

Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
1. Statement of Need and Purpose:
This requirement is for NCATS in ASPIRE for the ASPIRE project. The mobile robot will be integrated into chemistry workflows and transfer samples from one system/device to another as part of a larger workflow and eventually in an autonomous capacity. This is needed for ASPIRE to support NCATS DPI chemists in automating the cumbersome evaporation, consolidation, weighing, inventorying process which would free their time from manually handling these tedious lengthy tasks that will result in an enhanced drug discovery process with increased efficiency and throughput.
2. Background Information and Objective: The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), Division of Preclinical Innovation (DPI) ASPIRE group requires an update to the Biosero mobile robot physically and in software capacity since it is very outdated. Without this work, we would have to do a lot of custom development, which would take more time and effort.
3. Generic Name of Product: Biosero Mobile Robot Green Button Go (GBG)
4. Purchase Description:
Item 1: 103901 - GBG Mobile robot (AMR) software bundle Item 2: 303400 - Platform Instrumentation Item 3: 401000 - Installation Upgrade of AMR at Biosero HQ Item 4: 401000 - Installation onsite of AMR post-Biosero HQ upgrade.
5. Salient characteristics This requirement is a critical part of the ASPIRE program that aims to develop a state-of-the-art laboratory space to improve and accelerate the drug discovery process. The mobile robot operates as a key agent in developing and executing chemical synthesis workflows by transporting consumables, samples and solvents from workstation to workstation which in turn allows for an automated chemical synthesis workflow which in turn increases the efficiency and throughput of the said workflow.
