About this file
This document is an attachment detailing power upgrade requirements for the Next Generation Gateway (NGG) project at Peterson Space Force Base for Fiscal Year 2025. The upgrade involves installing power infrastructure in two buildings (1038 and 1844) to support NIPR and SIPR network racks, including 12 30-amp breakers, 12 L6-30 twist lock whips, 12 two-pole circuit breakers, and 24 Power Distribution Units (PDUs). The project is part of the Department of the Air Force's Zero Trust security initiative, requiring specific power configurations for CEDC (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security) Security Suites across different network environments.
The technical specifications include precise power requirements for each rack, with both A and B power feeds to ensure redundancy, ranging from 208-volt configurations with varying amperage (22.18 to 42.31 amps) and wattage (4,842 to 8,800 watts). Installation is expected during normal working hours (Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm), with PSFB east gate access and escort provisions. The solicitation (FA251725SS0422) is currently in a pre-solicitation phase, conducting market research to gather information from potential contractors, with no pricing details required at this stage.

· Provide and Install (8) 30-amp (Starline) Bus Way Tap Boxes above the proposed NGG NIPR location (New Racks)
· Provide and Install (4) (Starline) Bus plugs (suggested Starline model number UCT3G28S-14-SBGBxxxN-STD), rated at 208-volt 30-amp, to be installed into the NIPR Starline buss.
· For installation in SIPR Rack 207:
· Provide and Install (4) 30-amp (Starline) Bus Way Tap Boxes above the proposed NGG SIPR location (Rack 207) NOTE: The following was suggested by the first contractor to give us a quote, but is not required.
· Remove in a re-usable manner:
· (4) existing L6-30-amp bus plugs from the NIPR (Starline) buss.
· (2) existing L6-20-amp bus plugs from the SIPR (Starline) buss, turn over the buss plugs to owner
· Install the above-mentioned items that were removed:
· (2) existing L6-30-amp buss plugs into the SIPR (Starline) buss above rack 206.
· (2) existing L6-30-amp buss plugs into the SIPR (Starline) buss above rack 207.
Building 1844 Room C017 (561 NOS) – Hosting B side of CEDC
· Provide and Install in NIPR Racks B10-2, B10-3, and SIPR Rack R7-4
· (12) 30-Amp Breakers with L6-30 receptacles
· (12) L6-30 twist lock whips (suggested Hubbell part # 2620)
· (12) two pole, 30-amp Square D bolt-in branch circuit breakers NOTE: Need 12 PDU's each in Building 1844 and 1038 for a total of 24. These will be provided by XXXX NOTE: NGG also requires 2 new racks installed in building 1038 rm 35 for the NIPR location. These will be provided by XXXX
Total required equipment:
· (12) 30-Amp (Starline) Busway Tapbox with L6-30 receptacles
· (4) (Starline) Bus plugs, rated at 208-volt 30-amp (8 count if 4 cannot be repurposed as described above)
· (12) 30-Amp Breakers with L6-30 receptacles
· (12) L6-30 twist lock receptacles rated at 250-volt, 30-amp, 2 pole, 3 wire, identified as (2) phase conductors and (1) equipment ground conductor
· (12) two pole, 30-amp Square D bolt-in branch circuit breakers
· Other items may be required, such as LA Blue Seal tight, raised computer floor rated, #10 THHN copper conductors, single gang bell boxes, stainless steel device covers, labels with source panel designator and branch circuit number, etc.
· (12) PDU’s – To be provided by XXXXX
· (2) Racks – To be provided by XXXXX NOTE: (4) L6-20-amp bus plugs will be removed and re-used as part of the above configuration – if they cannot be repurposed, will need to be purchased.
Proposal consideration:
Installation has been estimated to be installed in an energized state with the existing configuration of the Starline busway.
PSFB access through the east gate should be factored into this proposal.
Escorts will be provided as required into the locations Quotations are based on performing the work under an AIA or ASA agreement.
All work shall be performed during normal working hours. Mon-Fri, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
The proposal should include a one-year warranty.
Starline and Hubbell branded products ~may not~ be required for this configuration. Please determine if brand name equipment will be needed, and if so, why.
Purpose/Background:
The work above is in preparation for the Next Generation Gateway project as downward directed from the NGG Program Office.
The Installation of above power upgrades will ensure that the base is adequately prepared for the installations of the NGG Zero-Trust CEDC Security Suites, to meet Department of the Air Force (DAF) Zero Trust requirements. An on-site survey has been conducted during which specific site requirements were identified by the NGG Integration Contractor (Tundra Federal with Subcontractors).
Power Requirements:
The NGG Phase 1 CEDC project power requirements are listed in the table below. All racks require A and B power feeds to support redundant power as detailed in the table. Site shall perform power study and upgrade site power to meet each rack’s minimum requirement as detailed below.
