About this file

This document is a detailed specification for field corn seed procurement by the USDA Agricultural Research Service. The solicitation (Number 12305B25R0011) seeks 114 total bags of two specific corn seed varieties from Agrigold: 57 bags of 636-16VT2RIB and 57 bags of 642-05VTRIB, each bag containing 80,000 seeds at 50 pounds. The seeds must meet strict agronomic requirements, including disease tolerance for tar spot, stalk rot, root rot, and gray leaf spot, with corn borer resistance and refuge traits. Additional specifications include herbicide tolerance to glyphosate, relative maturity dates of 106-112 days, and suitability for USDA Hardiness Zones 5-7.

The procurement is a 100% small business set-aside with a $2.5M size standard, using a Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation method. Seed delivery is required to the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in Maryland by April 1, 2024, with pickup/delivery restricted to seed dealers within 60 miles of Beltsville. Quotes are due by March 20, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST, submitted via email to Caitlin Hale, with questions accepted until March 17, 2025. Vendors must provide documentation demonstrating compliance with specifications, include a firm fixed price quote, and submit their Unique Entity ID.
