About this file
This document is a sole source justification for a service maintenance agreement for CareFusion Pyxis prescription dispensing and tissue implant management systems located at multiple Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers. The agreement is for $377,676 and includes technical support 24/7/365, on-site field service within 24 hours, preventative maintenance annually, and software updates. A Notice of Intent to Sole Source was posted on SAM from June 1 to June 10 with no responses received. The pricing is comparable to the previous contract and considered fair and reasonable by the contracting officer given CareFusion Solutions is the original equipment manufacturer with patents and copyrights, making it the only responsible source able to provide the required services. The related federal contract opportunity notice shows contract 36C24223P0001 was awarded to CareFusion Solutions for $596,148 on October 1, 2022 for these services for the upcoming fiscal year at various VA medical centers in Upstate New York and the Hudson Valley region.
