About this file
This document is a draft Technical Specification for a CNC Plasma & Gas Metal Cutting System required by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center. The key details are:
The Government requires a CNC Plasma & Gas Metal Cutting System with specific technical requirements, including a cutting range of at least 12' x 20', plasma cutting capabilities for mild steel (up to 3" thick), stainless steel (up to 6" thick), and aluminum (up to 6" thick), and a control system with a 15" touchscreen, 8GB RAM, and 2.9GHz i7 processor. Installation, equipment start-up, and training are also required. The machine must be warranted for 24 months against defects in material and workmanship, except for the plasma torch and leads which have a 12-month warranty. The contractor must be capable of responding to repair service calls within 36 hours and providing replacement parts within 48 hours.
This is a Sources Sought Notice to determine the availability and technical capability of businesses to meet this requirement. The procurement method will be determined based on the responses, and may result in a single source acquisition, a small business set-aside, or full and open competition.
