About this file

This is a Summary of Work (Section 01 11 00) for the Uncompahgre Project East Canal Efficiency Improvement solicitation issued by the Bureau of Reclamation.

The project consists of infrastructure improvements at four separate locations along the East Canal in Delta County, Colorado, near Olathe. Work includes constructing the West Loutsenhizer Arroyo Diversion Pipeline with inlet/outlet concrete structures and approximately 4,200 feet of 36-inch diameter HDPE pipe; the East Canal Side Channel Spillway concrete structure with approximately 65 feet of 48-inch and 100 feet of 42-inch diameter polypropylene profile wall pipe; a Double Barrel Siphon with inlet/outlet structures and approximately 170 feet of parallel 54-inch diameter HDPE pipe; the East Canal Ramp Flume structure; the GK Check Structure; and miscellaneous metal work, valve installation, and site clearing. The project must maintain coordination with the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association (UVWUA) operations and landowner agricultural activities. Critical scheduling restrictions require completion of canal-located components between November 1st and April 1st annually to avoid irrigation season interruptions, with substantial project completion by April 1, 2028, and final seeding, cleanup, and demobilization completed by November 1, 2028. The document establishes general specifications requirements, definitions, and acronyms applicable to the project divisions.
