About this file
This is a Department of Defense memorandum dated 13 July 2026 documenting the Salient Characteristics List for an F22 Oil Servicing Quick Disconnect Coupling Half.
The memorandum specifies that a Quick Disconnect Coupling Half (NSN: 4730-00-600-1758) is required to complete and install the Oil Service Widget on all F022A airframes. The coupling half is a male connector with the following specifications: 3A thread class at all ends; 3.000 inches overall length; spring push-lock quick disconnect method; flared connection style; 0.750-inch leg length; internal quick disconnect connection type; threaded external tube first fluid end connection; safety locking and self-sealing features; 0.875-inch thread size at all ends; 37.0-degree seat angle; 0.625-inch outside diameter tube accommodation; aluminum alloy or stainless-steel body; anodized surface treatment; and UNF thread series designation at all ends. This component is identified as a crucial part for a portable oil container/dispenser that will enable F022A aircraft operators to service aircraft oil in austere locations without maintenance support infrastructure. The coupling half's functionality directly supports mission readiness by allowing aircraft to remain operational following divert landings and enabling the US Air Force to maintain greater air power projection capabilities.

2. The items listed above will be a crucial part for a portable Oil container/dispenser inside F022A aircraft allowing the operator to service the oil of the aircraft in austere locations where there is no maintenance support.
