About this file

This is a Brand Name Requirements Justification memorandum from the Department of the Air Force, Air Education and Training Command, dated April 13, 2026, for the 82d Security Forces Squadron.

The 82d Security Forces Squadron is acquiring a DroneShield Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft System to enhance installation security against wide-range airborne threats. The acquisition is all-inclusive, providing system training, all necessary components, and complete hardware and software setup and configuration. DroneShield, LLC is the sole manufacturer of this system, though the company maintains several resellers. Market research conducted by HQ AETC/A4S evaluated two different systems with C-sUAS detection capability approved by Air Education and Training Command; DroneShield was selected based on its superior flexibility and alignment with the squadron's operational requirements. Potential AETC funding may be available for the purchase. For future requirements, the agency will assess whether additional resellers of the system exist to support competition in subsequent acquisitions. The justification was approved by the Contracting Officer on April 16, 2026, and by the Section Chief on April 21, 2026.
