The contractor shall perform the following actions:
Provide shop drawings of the HVAC system showing all equipment and material that will be installed and upgraded. The drawings shall be submitted to the government and approved by the government before any material is ordered.
Replace all temperature, pressure, humidity, and air monitoring sensors on both air handlers.
Replace the supply air fan bearing on air handler unit (AHU) 2.
Replace the Belimo control valve controlling the air damper on computer room air conditioner (CRAC) 1.
Disassemble ceiling grid where necessary to perform any above ceiling work.
The ceiling tiles and grid assembly shall be reused so it shall not be discarded or damaged. Any damaged ceiling material damaged will be the contractors responsibility to replace.
Replace all flex duct that supplies all variable air volume (VAV) boxes from the main branch supplies. Approximately 8 feet of flex duct shall be replaced at each VAV box in the annex on both floors. The flex duct shall be replaced with hard duct. The new ductwork shall be insulated according to industry standards.
Replace both energy recovery ventilators (ERV) with dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) that are equipped with DX cooling coils and electric heating coils. DOAS-1, which supports AHU-1, shall have a minimum cooling capacity of 353MBH. DOAS-2, which supports AHU-2, shall have a minimum cooling capacity of 420MBH.
Replace the 17 VAV boxes that are undersized by 10% or more as shown in Table 2 of the commissioning report (percentages greater than 100% are undersized). This will be VAV 1-03,1-06, 1-08, 1-09, 1-10, 1-11, 1-12, 1-13, 1- 14, 1-15, 1-19, 2-03, 2-04, 2-06, 2-09, 2-13, and 2-18. The new VAVs shall be sized based on the simulated airflow data from Table 2. The new VAVs shall include hot water reheat coils if it is replacing a VAV with hot water reheat coils.
Install new isolation valves on the supply and return lines of all VAVs with hot water reheat.
It is the contractor’s responsibility to determine if the ductwork to and from these VAVs needs to be enlarged to accommodate the increased air flow.
This includes any additional supplies and returns that are needed to support the new VAVs. Any enlarged ductwork shall be shown on the shop drawings.
It is the contractor’s responsibility to determine if the electrical infrastructure needs to be upgraded to support any of the new pieces of equipment. Any required electrical upgrades shall be shown in the shop drawings.
All ceiling grid and tiles shall be reinstalled to original condition.
Integrate any new equipment into the current building automation system.
Perform a test and balance (based on UFGS 23 05 93) of the entire HVAC system. The system shall be balanced to meet the simulated air flow data of Table 2 from the commissioning report.
