About this file
This is a Design/Build Statement of Work for various roof repairs at four buildings (B1601, B1822, B1693, B160) located at Shaw Air Force Base. The project (VLSB 24-0033) involves a 216-calendar-day contract with 91 days for design and 125 days for construction, requiring comprehensive roof renovations across multiple facilities. Each building has unique requirements: B1601 involves complete roof replacement with a Modified Bituminous Roof System, including asbestos abatement; B1822 requires similar full roof replacement with lightning protection system considerations; B1693 needs partial roof repair and coating; and B160 requires internal gutter system cleaning and partial roof coating.
The Statement of Work mandates strict compliance with UFC, UFGS, and Shaw AFB Design and Construction Standards, with specific warranty requirements including a 20-year manufacturer's warranty with "no dollar limit" coverage. The contractor must provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, labor, and permits, ensuring minimal interference with base operations. Key technical requirements include minimizing roof penetrations, installing new insulation, implementing air-tight roof-to-wall connections, and following detailed specifications for each building's unique roofing system. The project also involves environmental considerations, such as proper disposal of hazardous materials and potential recycling of eligible materials.
