About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of one new commercial-grade Straight Line Rip Saw for the Defense Distribution Depot Corpus Christi, TX (DDCT). The equipment is intended to replace an outdated, maintenance-intensive machine that lacks required OSHA safety equipment. The saw will support mission-essential packaging and distribution operations at the facility.
The contractor must provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment, materials, transportation, and supervision to manufacture, deliver, offload, and install the rip saw. All equipment must be new, unused, and from the manufacturer's most current production model, delivered on a FOB Destination basis with turnkey delivery including all accessories and components necessary for a fully functional system. The contractor is responsible for conducting an on-site facility survey following contract award to verify compatibility of existing electrical, mechanical, and ventilation (dust collection) connections. The Government will prepare utility drops and execute final electrical connections from the machine's terminal box to the facility's disconnect switch. The specified equipment reference is a Diehl model SL65-56 (or equivalent) with minimum salient characteristics including 280-volt 3-phase 60-cycle operation, 20 HP belt-driven spindle with automatic dead-man brake, 3 HP feed drive motor with AC inverter for variable feed speeds of 70-200 FPM, 56 inches of throat capacity, and comprehensive infeed safety features including cam-controlled anti-kickback fingers. The contractor must provide one 18-inch diameter 30-tooth carbide-tipped saw blade, a complete set of operator and service manuals, and conduct one 8-hour training period on safe equipment operation. Warranty coverage must be manufacturer's standard but not less than one year parts and labor. Final acceptance will be performed by receiving location personnel.
