Paint or Stain on the Exterior of the Building; Repair & Install New Steel Standing Seam Roof on Chewalla Campground Bathhouse The project location is in the Holly Springs National Forest at the Chewalla Recreation Area.

This project involves the removal of all of the fascia board and replacement with Hardie board or a similar product. If the sheathing has water damage, remove it and replace it with like material. The Contractor shall remove and replace the steel shingle roof with a standing seam steel roof. Caulk, prime, and paint the new fascia board. Paint the doors inside and out and stain the trim inside and out. Finally, stain the exterior, walls, ceiling, posts, and rails.

Below is a list of items to be aware of on this project:

• Leave sites and adjacent areas in a clean condition after completing the project.

• The Contractor will remove all the debris, which includes the installation waste, associated debris, screws, nails, staples, fascia board, roof sheathing, soffit, flashing, felt paper, & metal shingles from Forest Service property and dispose of them according to Federal, State, and local laws.

• The Contracting Officer Representative (COR) shall approve the colors of the metal roof material, fascia & door paint, and siding, trim, posts, rails, and ceiling stain before purchasing the materials.

• While cleaning the building before painting, do not use high- pressure and tear the wood on the building.

Description of Work

1. Mobilization shall include all activities and associated costs for transporting the Contractor's personnel, equipment, and operating supplies to the site. Demobilization shall consist of all activities and expenses for transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies not required or included in the contract from the site, including the disassembly, removal, and site clean-up, and equipment and facilities assembled on the site specifically for this contract.

2. Remove the following:

1. Existing metal shingle roof, underlayment, vent boots, flashing, tree-damaged soffit, and roof sheathing.

2. Tree-damaged fascia boards, including areas damaged by woodpeckers and bees.

3. Install the following:

1. Roof sheathing in damaged areas with in-kind material.

2. Hardie board for the fascia or a similar product.

3. Soffit boards with in-kind materials.

4. Underlayment according to the manufactures instructions.

5. Flat profile, 1 3/4" standing seams, 12" wide, 26 ga., steel ridge vent, ridge caps, and any other accessories needed to complete the installation as per manufactures instructions.

We prefer a light-colored roof so the attic and building stay cooler in the summer.

4. Before painting begins, clean the exterior walls, ceilings, doors, and soffit. Then, prime and place two (2) coats of exterior acrylic latex paint on the Hardie fascia board. Paint the exterior doors with primer and put two (2) coats of exterior acrylic latex inside and out. Stain with two coats the trim around doors inside and out. Stain the exterior walls, ceilings, posts, and rails with two coats.
