Bulldozer Repairs 2021
Scope of Work The Mat Sinking Unit of the Corps of Engineers requires the rebuilding of the power train on its two bulldozers – D6R DT-211 (Serial # 08Z99687) and D7H DT-209 (Serial # 08Z90398). The dozers are made by Caterpillar and require Caterpillar certified mechanics from an authorized Caterpillar service dealer to perform the rebuilds in order to receive a factory warranty equal to that of a new Caterpillar bulldozer. The components listed under the Caterpillar Certified Powertrain Rebuild Program shall be completely disassembled for the two dozers being rebuilt. All seals, gaskets, hoses, belts, knobs, wiring, switches, and gauges shall be replaced with new Caterpillar parts. All other parts are required to be inspected and measured against the Caterpillar reusability guidelines. The parts that do not meet Caterpillar reusability guidelines shall be replaced with Cat Reman parts or shall be reconditioned to meet Caterpillar specifications if applicable. The Mat Sinking Unit requires the Caterpillar Certified Powertrain Rebuild Plus Program (CPT+), which is a customizable version of the Base CPT Rebuild Program with additional replacements and repairs as needed. All parts/components that are required to be inspected and replaced/reconditioned to be brought to Caterpillar standards are listed below.
The Mat Sinking Unit also requires repairs to its D5H bulldozer. The dozer requires repairs to its final drive, hydraulic cylinders, and winch along with other components as detailed below. This dozer also requires Caterpillar certified mechanics from an authorized Caterpillar service dealer performing the repairs. A factory warranty is not required within the repair of the D5H dozer. Repairs needed for the D5H are listed in detail below after the D6R and D7H rebuild requirements.
