48 CMS Borescope
Specifications Document
1.0 Introduction
1.1. Scope: The 48 CMS requires two (2) video borescopes to provide enhanced borescope inspection capabilities of Pratt & Whitney F100-220/229 jet engines.
2.0 Product Specifications & Delivery Requirements
2.1. The contractor must provide all materials for the delivery of the two (2) Waygate
Technology (Brand Name or Equal) video borescopes with kits that meet the following specifications:
The borescope handset should be able to be handheld and mountable to a 3-inch-wide rail.
Screen Visual Quality: 720p or greater Storage and Transport: The complete borescope must be stored in a wheeling carry case.
Handset holder included used to hold the handset when attached to hands free devices.
160Gb of Internal drive storage.
Must be able to connect a DVD/RW drive via a USB to the borescope directly and transfer inspection reports from it to a disk.
Rigid handset hanging hook with integrated quick disconnect (QD) to interface directly with the handset.
Automatic Turner: It should have the capability for the inspector to turn the core of the engine without assistance from additional personnel.
Voice control for hands-free operation.
Must be portable without the need for external power source.
• Battery life per battery should be a minimum of 2 hours.
12-inch rigidizer with gripper.
Ability to autogenerate inspection reports using the borescope from images taken.
3D phase measurement and blade counter capabilities.
Four 6mm interchangeable video probe cables at least 3.5 meters in length and with 3D phase measurement capable optical tips. At least one of the probes should have a working channel or similar for FOD retrieval capabilities.
Stereo measurement capabilities (length, point-to-line, depth, depth profile, area, angle and multi-segment) along with advanced measurements capabilities such as Area Depth Profile, Radius Gauge, Auto Blade Tip Clearance, Auto Area, Surface Angle, Measurement Plane, Probability of Detection, 3D Stitching, Live 3D Stereo, and Overlay.
Borescope measurement calibration kit.
Optical tips: It should come with multiple tips to provide a Depth of Field from 3mm to infinite and a Field of View of 90 degrees or greater. They should be an assortment of forward view and side view.
Light source should be high intensity LED
Tools for FOD retrieval such as snare basket and three prong fingers.
Artificial Intelligence software that includes blade damage detection.
At minimum, 1 year warranty for the repair or replacement of 1 system (handset/probe, case and included accessories) and at no cost to the original purchaser.
At minimum, 1-year warranty, from new, for batteries
At minimum, 3-year warranty, from new, for the light sources.
At minimum, 2-year program that includes: 1 Preventative Maintenance, 1 repair, five 4 training events, and a rental credit that can be used during the preventative maintenance or repair.
At least annual training for the operation and care of the borescope should be included.
2.2. The contractor must deliver the borescope to Building 1273, RAF Lakenheath, United
Kingdom.
