About this file

This document is instructions for calculating the percentage of self-performed work for a federal contract opportunity set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs). The instructions outline the required calculations for determining the amount of work the SDVOSB prime contractor can subcontract to non-SDVOSB firms, based on the service type. For A/E services, the SDVOSB prime cannot subcontract more than 50% of the contract value, excluding materials. For general construction, the SDVOSB prime cannot subcontract more than 85% of the contract value, excluding materials. For special trade construction, the SDVOSB prime cannot subcontract more than 75% of the contract value, excluding materials.

The related federal contract opportunity is for installing a 200 kW electrical generator at the Fisher House for the Audie L. Murphy Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. The solicitation is set aside for 100% SDVOSBs under NAICS code 238210 with a size standard of $19 million. The period of performance is 180 days after the notice to proceed is issued, and the magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
