Specifications for

Visual & Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Inspection High Definition Video Bore Inspection System for 20-60mm Medium & 81-120 Mortar Cannon gun Tubes

SCOPE

C.3.1 PURPOSE

This specification describes the requirement for Visual & Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Inspection High Definition Video Bore Inspection System (V&FMPIHDVBIS) for 20-60mm Medium & 81-120 Mortar Cannon gun Tubes. V&FMPIHDVBIS is a video based bore inspection system for interior bore surface of cannon gun tubes 20mm to 120mm in diameter. The system employs one high resolution secure digital camera for wide angle down tube and one high resolution (1080i output) camera right angle detail views of the bore interior surface under remote controlled white and UV lighting. Encoders provide on-screen down tube and circumferential position information. An on-board recorder captures high definition digital still or movies of the inspection. All components are designed for use with the target tube in place on the Magnaflux magnetic particle horizontal wet cannon tube inspection machine or in a shop floor inspection station.

C.3.2 GENERAL DOCUMENTATION

The following documents shall be supplied with (V&FMPIHDVBIS)

Two complete sets of Operator’s Manuals

Certification of performance LED Ultraviolet and White light intensity

Certifications of Warranty of any/all commercial OEM equipment

C.3.3 ENVIRONMENT

V&FMPIHDVBIS shall operate in a shop floor environment with:

Ambient temperatures ranging from 10 to 45 degrees C

Relative humidity between 10 and 95% (non-condensing)

C.3.4 GENERAL REQUIREMENT

The V&FMPIHDVBIS shall be operated as a complete turn-key system and shall include the following major components:

MZ-5 FS Medium Bore Inspection System for cannon bore 81-120 mm MZ-6 Small Bore Inspection System for cannon bore from 20, 25, 30, 40 and 60 mm

C.3.4.1 The MZ-5 FS 81-120 mm Mortar Systems shall be performed visual examinations of bore IDs during general visual inspections and/or during fluorescent magnetic particle inspection processes. White and UV illumination are provided for viewing surfaces with live HD video or capture of 13 megapixel photos. The MZ-5 FS 81-120 mm Mortar System (MZ-5 FS 120M) builds on the successful MZ-5 by utilizing field or shop deployable packaging and extension pole mechanics specific to the 81-120 mm mortar. The high performance sensors are matched to display and capture hardware. This is a field or shop deployed system. Environmental conditions are considered for all system components.

MZ-5 FS 81-120M supports the visual examinations of 81mm and 120mm bores. Tube lengths up to 10’ may be inspected. The head contains two cameras that can switch between wide field HD down tube view and HD right angle view. Both cameras operate in HD video or 13 MP still capture modes and both have independent white and UV illumination.
