1.2 Purpose/End Application: The purpose of this project is to refurbish, repair, or replace any outdated or non-functioning exhibits within the Savannah NWR Visitor Center. The Savannah NWR Visitor Center was constructed in 2008-2009 and includes a large museum-quality exhibit area. 1.3 Contractor Qualifications: Contractor must be a professional interpretive exhibit design and fabrication company with specific expertise in museum-quality exhibits and any “behind the scenes” systems in place that make them operate. Contractor must be willing and able to work on an exhibit system that they did not originally design/fabricate.
2. Place of Performance and Period of Performance
2.1 Savannah National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 694 Beech Hill Lane, Hardeeville, SC 29927. Site visit and installation of any refurbished, repaired, or replaced exhibits or exhibit components will be done at this location. Any design or fabrication work may be done at the contractor’s location.
2.2 The performance start date will be as soon as possible or January 15, 2023 and expire September 30, 2023.

3. Scope
3.1 Contractor shall meet with refuge staff, either in-person or via virtual meeting, to inspect each exhibit within the visitor center to determine proper course of action for each outdated, damaged or non-functioning exhibit item.
Based on inspection by refuge staff, the following items in the visitor center need to be either repaired or replaced:
Items to be repaired
1. Interactive touch-screen game: Visitors use touch-screen to select which animal is making the sounds that plays. When the correct answer is selected, a spotlight shines down from the ceiling on the corresponding animal mount. There is a desktop tower style computer hidden behind one of the exhibit walls that runs the game and that computer is very outdated and needs to be replaced. Currently the game is completely non-functional.
2. Alligator mount: Taxidermied alligator in middle diaorama has a missing eye.
3. Daytime/nighttime sounds and lights: The back diaorama has rotating lights and sounds associated with it that change from daytime wildlife sounds with bright light to nighttime wildlife sounds with dim lights. This system has gotten out of sync and many of the lights are no longer working.
4. Middle diaorama: Install a plexiglass barrier around the middle diorama to keep children from being able to reach in and damage it.
5. From Mountain to Sea wall panel: Repair one push-button with corresponding light on the panel that is no longer working.
Items to be replaced
1. Three (3) plexiglass cases housing historic artifacts that are scratched up.
2. Six (6) small flipdoors on Amazing Reptiles panel that are damaged.
