Statement of Work
Dominick House Window Repair
Description of Work. Remove 12 existing windows, furnish deliver, install 12 new widows with Sierra
Pacific Double Hung Sash Kits with vinyl balances, and paint around the new windows.
Work Location: The Dominick House is located on Bulls Island in Awendaw, SC. All transportation to and from the island will be provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Operating hours are Monday –
Friday, 7am – 4pm.
Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge 5801 Hwy 17 N, Awendaw, SC 29429.
Period of Performance. The period of performance will be 60 working days from date of award.
Site Visit. A site visit is not mandatory, but highly encouraged.

NOTE: Attachment-3 depicts the type of current windows and frame in place that need to be removed.
Removal:
- Remove 12 old widows as shown on Attachment-1- Window Locations numbered as : 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 115, 132, and 133
- cut out window stop
- cut out old window sashes
- cut rope with weight on it and let fall into wall
- remove wheel inside frames
- put filler wood in wheel hole and wood putty
- load all debris in a boat and haul back to boat landing. Then load into a dump trailer and haul off site.
Prep:
- put plastic and or plywood up to cover window hole to keep bugs out and weather. If the window hole will be exposed for more than two days then plywood will be required.

- paint side frames
- paint sashes
- repair any rot on window frame and sash. Only window 110 noticed rot - will cut out damaged area and replace with wood on the frame and wood putty 1" x 2" area on window sill. wood for repairs, southern yellow pine.
Installation:
Windows 102 – 110 and 132 and 133, and single window 115 totaling 10 double windows and one single are to be replaced. Dimensions of windows are as follows:
102 – 104 : 35” x 53”
105 – 109 : 31” x 53”
110 : 30” x 45”
115 : 31” x 36”
132 – 133 : 35" x 53"
-Furnish, deliver and install 12 new Sierra Pacific Double Hung Sash Kits with vinyl balances Wood should be pine, 5/8 grille, and white interior per the location depicted in Attachment-1- Window Locations numbered as : 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 115, 132, and 133 as follows:
- install jamb and vinyl balance
- install new sashes
- install new head weather stripping
- install window sash
Windows shall be made of pine with 5/8” traditional grille and white interior finish.
Painting: window sashes, window frame, and exterior window trim (no inside window trim)
-prep exterior window trim by removing peeling and loose paint
- prime and paint the sashes - use two coats of Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams Aklyd oil base primer.
The first coat will be reduced from 5% to 8% with mineral spirits to facilitate penetration into the wood
Clean-up load all debris in a boat and haul back to boat landing. Then load into a dump trailer and haul off site.
