Salient Characteristics

For

URC 300 Air to Ground Radio Purchase

Fairchild AFB, WA

1. BACKGROUND:

a. Purchase of URC 300 Air to Ground Radio with accessories allowing all emergency responders to communicate with Aircraft Pilot during emergency responses.

b. Current radios are hard mounted to two emergency vehicles that isolate any radio traffic with Aircraft Pilot to interior of vehicle. Responder must relay on separate channel to all other members of any communication had. Benefit of radio purchase for centralized location would allow all responders the ability to monitor and communicate with Aircraft Pilot during emergency responses, reducing complexity and misunderstanding between crews.

2. OBJECTIVES:

a. Additional Air to Ground radio that will be placed in centralized location on Fairchild Air Force Base to allow more responders opportunity to communicate pilots needs and intentions.

b. Supporting accessories for mounting and transmitting from centralized location

3. REQUIREMENTS:

a. Provide necessary parts to transmit and mount antenna/radio as outlined in Section 5.

4. DELIVERY:

a. Delivery no later than 180 days after receipt of delivery order.
