About this file
This document is a project map and scope summary for Peaceful Valley Non-Native Invasive Species (NNIS) treatment units located in FY26. The project encompasses seven treatment units totaling 12 acres across the Peaceful Valley area, accessible via State Route 311 north from New Castle for 6.6 miles, then right onto Peaceful Valley East Road (Nimrod Road) for 0.9 miles to the Forest Service Road where all units are located. Each unit ranges from 1 to 2 acres, with units distributed along a forest service road corridor.
The primary activity required is basal bark application of triclopyr herbicide on non-native invasive species within the designated units. Target species include Autumn Olive as the primary focus, along with Tree of Heaven, Paulownia, Multiflora Rose, and Amur Honeysuckle. The map displays unit locations, road closure statuses, and land classifications including National Forest land, private property, and various road types. Road access ranges from open year-round to seasonally open to administratively closed routes, with specific unit boundaries clearly delineated on the accompanying topographic map showing terrain, water features, and existing infrastructure.
