About this file
This is a Special Provisions and Specifications document for the State of Oregon, Department of Transportation (ODOT), related to an overlay pavement preservation project on Highway 238 from Mile Post 11.73 to 12.03 in Josephine County. The project involves grinding and paving operations with a 2-inch deep overlay on the existing pavement. The work is located in the Jacksonville area and represents a standard highway maintenance and preservation effort. Specific details regarding project timelines, response deadlines, site visit schedules, and bidder conference information would be contained within the full specifications document to guide contractors in preparing competitive bids.
The Special Provisions and Specifications establish the technical requirements, material standards, and quality assurance criteria that contractors must meet to successfully complete the pavement grinding and paving work. These provisions typically address specific conditions applicable to this particular project segment, including any local environmental considerations, traffic control measures, material specifications for the overlay asphalt, equipment requirements, and construction methodologies required by ODOT. Contractors must comply with all outlined specifications to be considered for award, and adherence to these provisions ensures consistency with Oregon's transportation infrastructure standards and safety requirements for highway construction projects.
