About this file
This document provides details for a proposed non-competitive contract award for microplates. The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences requires 72 cases of 1536-well white microplates, 23 cases of an alternate 1536-well plate, and 60 cases of a third 1536-well plate variant. Additionally, 5 cases of 384-well square microplates are required. The plates must have dual barcodes, be treated for cell culture, and minimize signal crosstalk. Delivery is expected within 60 days of order receipt. The purpose is to maintain research continuity by using plates validated on previous assays. The National Institute on Drug Abuse intends to award this contract on behalf of NCATS to Zeon Specialty Materials for $500,000. Responses regarding capability to fulfill the requirement are due by February 5, 2024.

FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
1. Statement of Need and Purpose: Acquisition of barcoded 384-well and 1536-well Aurora microplates
2. Background Information and Objective: The National Center for Advancing
Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which mission it is to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions.
NCATS requires sufficient stock of 1536-well and 384-well microplates to meet anticipated scheduled assay screens and combination matrix studies. NCATS uses specific types and models of well plates to meet particular performance requirements, and sources well plates that meet specific requirements from different manufacturers that have developed them. This requirement is for white solid bottom tissue culture treated dual barcoded minimized well signal crosstalk microplates manufactured by Aurora Microplates.
