SPECIFICATIONS FOR

HANDHELD RADIATION MONITOR

Item 1: Handheld Radiation Monitor, Quantity: Fifteen (15)

Overview: Self-contained gamma ray and thermal neutron radiation detector used in the interdiction and location of nuclear materials. The high sensitivity of the instrument is due to a miniature photomultiplier tube and solid-state scintillation detector with a small, high-pressure Helium-3 proportional counter. Quick alerts by audio alarm, vibrating or visually with a single-digit display to signify gamma-rays or neutrons detected at levels significantly above the natural background.

Weight: 346 grams (g) with battery Alerts: Duty-cycle based audible, vibration and two visual single-digit, red Light Emitting Diode (LED) displayed alerts, one each for neutron and gamma-ray, and a blue LED for neutrons detected Size: 8.3 inch (in) long x 2.0 in wide x 1.2 in thick Integration Time (Response Time): less than one second Radiation Type: Gamma and neutron Search Capability: Duty cycle based audio tone or duty-cycle based vibrator, and two single-digit red LED display Gamma-ray Detector Type: Cesium Iodide Scintillator Gamma-ray Detector Size: 0.5 in diameter, 1.5 in long Gamma-ray Detector Sensitivity: Typically 2.2 counts per second (cps) per microRoentgen per hour (µR/hr) at 662 kilo-electron-volts (keV) Gamma-ray Low Energy Cutoff: approximately 45 keV Neutron Detector Type: Helium-3 Proportional Counter Neutron Detector Size: 0.75 in diameter x 4.8 in long; active detector volume of 1.81 cubic inches (in³) Neutron Detector Sensitivity: 10.5 counts per second (cps) per neutron flux Battery: CR123A, 1 month continuous operation Operating Temperature Range: -13°Fahrenheit (°F) to 122°F (-25 degrees Celsius (°C) to 50 °C) Waterproof: Up to 66 feet Environment Protection: Shock, Vibration, and drop resistant Holster: Nylon, full body covered holster, with Fastex style buckle Warranty: For Goods, at a minimum, 5 years from delivery date
