About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details door repair requirements for two buildings in Yosemite National Park: the Fort building and NPS Warehouse 759 in El Portal, California. The scope includes repairing three separate door systems: 1) Fort Mat Room Doors - replacing slats on two doors and a bottom bar on one door damaged by snow removal equipment, 2) Fort Roads Shop Door - adjusting spring tension, straightening the chain, repairing/replacing the operator, and providing two programmed remote controls, and 3) El Portal Warehouse Commissary Door - installing a new 1HP, 460 VOLT 3-PHASE commercial operator with auxiliary chain hoist operation and commercial photo cells.

The document specifies critical operational requirements, including scheduling work with Stephanie Bartholomew at least one week in advance, performing work during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday), and adhering to specific hauling restrictions due to ongoing rockslide repairs. Additionally, contractors must follow strict bear and animal safety protocols, ensuring no food is left in work vehicles and understanding that bear incidents are ticketable offenses. The SOW includes photographic documentation of the damaged doors and an aerial view of the Fort building location to assist potential contractors in understanding the repair scope.

Statement of Work Objective

Yosemite National Park requires the repair of several doors located in two park buildings in different areas of the park.

Fort building: 9000 Lost Arrow Road, Yosemite National Park, Ca. 95389 NPS Warehouse 759: 5083 Foresta Road El Portal, Ca. 95318

Background

Fort Mat Room Doors: Two manually operated garage doors located on the west side of the Fort building were damaged by snow removal equipment. Previously a door company came to the site to assess the situation, and it was suggested slats on each door (2 on one and 9 on the other) and a bottom bar on one door have been damaged and need replacement to make the doors operational once more. Photos of the doors are shown below.

Fort Roads Shop Door: One overhead, operator powered door was hit and the hood dented in the roads shop on the South side of the building. The operator housing door is opened, and the system is malfunctioning. The spring tension needs adjustment, and the chain straightened. Additionally the NPS requests two programmed remote controls for this operator.

El Portal Warehouse Commissary Door: An operator powered roll up door in the NPS warehouse commissary is nonfunctioning because the operator is past it’s life and has failed.
