Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Training
1. Scope. The Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC) has a requirement for Global Navigation
Satellite Systems (GNSS) training for JV analysts. This will be JWAC’s first training in this area of interest and is needed to fulfill mission requirements.
2. Applicable Documents. N/A
3. Requirements.
3.1 This will be an in-house training course (preferred) on the fundamentals of Global Navigation
Satellite Systems (GNSS) for up to 25 JWAC employees. There is a possibility that this could be held in a VTC live-feed format but in-person instruction would be better.
3.2 An instructor cleared up to the SECRET level is required.
3.3 Course will be taught either live/in-person at the JWAC facility in Dahlgren, VA (preferred) or online at JWAC, delivered using MS Teams or equivalent video platform.
3.4 The course is proposed for delivery during the 30 Sep 2021-through 29 Sep 2022 timeframe.
3.5 Course materials will be provided at least one (1) week prior to the training start date and include a full-color master soft copy of the course materials (the PowerPoint slides in a pdf file format).
3.6 A reference list and an acronym list will also be provided to each course participant at least one (1) week prior to the training start date.
3.7 Training must include:
Brief overview and history of the United States Global Positioning System (GPS)
Fundamentals of the GPS system and operation
Legacy GPS (C/A, P(Y) and all bands (L1-L5)
Modernization of GPS to include L1, L2, L5, Civilian bands, and, M-Code
