About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of three (3) 1.25-inch High Pressure Pneumatic Rotary Unions. The SOW outlines the technical requirements for the rotary unions, including specifications for the working media (air and hydraulic fluid), flow rate, dimensions and tolerances, materials, and testing and verification.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source to Dynamic Sealing Technologies Inc. for the purchase of these High Pressure Pneumatic Rotary Unions. The Solicitation Number is FA9101-24-Q-B077, and the contracting agency is the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center. The SOW provides the detailed technical requirements for the rotary unions that will be procured under this sole source contract.

STATEMENT OF WORK
For (3) 1.25-inch High Pressure Pneumatic
Rotary Unions
This Statement of Work describes the requirements for the Rotary Unions.
1.0 Introduction
This Statement of Work describes the requirements for a 1.25” High Pressure Pneumatic Rotary Union with an internal 4.4” bore. Three units are required. The rotary unions are custom made and shall be state of the art in all areas of design and fabrication. The rotary unions shall be guaranteed to be free of defects in design, fabrication, and performance for one year after they are delivered. The three units shall be interchangeable. The units shall be designed and fabricated in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
4.0 Working media is air and hydraulic fluid
5.0 Flow Rate Requirements
5.1 Average flow rate is 10 lbm/sec
5.2 Maximum flow rate is 30 lbm/sec
5.3 Flow rate at minimum operating pressure is 0 lbm/s
5.4 Flow rate at maximum operating pressure is 30 lbm/s
6.0 Dimension and Tolerance Requirements
6.1 Inner diameter = 4.43” ± 0.01”
6.2 Outer diameter = 8.25” ± 0.01”
6.3 Three independent passages/flow paths:
6.3.1 One High Pressure Air flowpath
6.3.2 One hydraulic fluid supply line path
6.3.3 One hydraulic fluid return line path
6.4 Maximum unit length = 8”
6.5 Maximum unit weight = 75 lbm
6.6 High Pressure Air supply to the test article = 1.25” NPT
6.7 Hydraulic supply = 1/4" NPT
7.0 Material Requirements
Materials must be corrosion resistant and meet the specified pressure and weight requirements.
8.0 Checkout & verification Requirements
8.1 The units shall be hydro tested to 2250 psi, equal to 1.5x the operating pressure of 1500 psi, in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII.
8.2 The units shall be leak tested to with a preferred leak rate of less than 1 psi/min and a maximum acceptable leak rate of 20 psi/min at an operating pressure of 1500 psi.
