About this file
This document is a Rack Mounted Server (RMS) Specification Sheet. It outlines the U.S. Government's requirements for RMSs that must operate in harsh and variable environments and meet NEBS Level 3 compliance and MIL-STD-810H standards. The RMSs must have specific capabilities, including the ability to report state of health data, minimum CPU and GPU requirements, embedded 25GbE NIC, memory and storage specifications, and size/weight constraints. The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the procurement of new manufactured RMSs under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Quotes must be submitted by 02-Aug-2024. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center Joint Base San Antonio is the issuing agency.

RMS Description:
The U.S. Government has a requirement for RMSs that are able to operate in harsh and variable environments and meet Network Equipment Building System (NEBS) Level 3 compliance and Military Standard (MIL-STD)-810H standards. Compliance and standards encompass a multitude of criteria including but not limited to shock testing, temperature, humidity, airborne contaminants, Electromagnetic Discharge, Electromagnetic Interference, etc.
*RMS Dimensions:
Height: 1.68in. x Width: 19in. x Depth: 18in. (Server shall be rack mountable; however, smaller dimensions than described above are acceptable.)
*Server shall be rack mountable; however, smaller dimensions than described above are acceptable.
RMS Requirements:
1.
RMS must be able to (optionally) report State of Health (SOH) data securely locally and remotely. The user should be able to obtain data via a Web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) and/or secure remote protocol for external software interfacing. At minimum, the data reported should include temperature monitoring, power supply unit monitoring, Central Processing Unit (CPU) monitoring, fan/cooling status and Network Interface Card (NIC) monitoring. Server will not have wi-fi, Bluetooth or Secure Digital (SD) Card capability.
2.
RMS shall have a CPU minimum of 1 x 2.4GHz Base Frequency, 36 Cores, 72 Threads, 54MB Cache, DDR4-2933.
3.
RMS shall have a minimum of 2 x 16GB GDDR6, 200GB/s, PCIe Gen 4 x8, 60W, Cuda
11.1 or later GPUs OR 2 x 24GB GDDR6, 300GB/s, PCIe Gen 4 x16; x8, Cuda 12.0 or later GPU.
4.
RMS shall have an embedded 4 x 25GbE SFP 28 NIC with the ability to scale up to 8 x 25GbE SFP 28 ports.
5. RMS shall have a minimum of 8 x 64GB RDIMM, 3200 MT/s, Dual Rank Memory.
6. RMS shall have a minimum of 4 x 3.84TB Solid-State Drives.
7. RMS shall have a minimum of 3 PCIe Gen4 slots.
8. RMS must not exceed 13.6 kgs (29.9 pounds).
9. Operating Range(s) minimum 50 (°F) maximum 95 (°F)
10. Operating Range(s) Humidity Percent (Non-Condensing) 8-90
11.
Manufacturer must be able to meet Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 9 and Manufacturer Readiness Levels (MRL) 10 standards.
