LTV GENERATOR REPLACEMENT
Requirements Document
For
704th Test Group/746th Test Squadron
16 Sep 2025
1.0 PURPOSE
A critical 746 Test Squadron (746 TS) test capability is the Large Test Vehicle (LTV), a mobile platform used to test navigation systems—including myriad Department of Defense (DoD) Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Assured PNT (A-PNT) systems—in open-air, static, and low-dynamic conditions. The LTV is capable of fielding multiple disparate system types in parallel with operators and support personnel on-board. The LTV is imperative to continued testing and success of the 746th Test Squadron.
The LTV’s on-board generator provides primary source voltage for all necessary system and unit under test power requirements. The current generator, delivered with the LTV in 2005, is aging and failing. It experiences intermittent failures, overheating, erratic power fluctuations, and excessive noise and vibration, making it unreliable for critical test operations. A replacement generator is required to restore the LTV to full, reliable operational status. This is a brand name requirement.
2.0 SCOPE
The Contractor shall deliver one (1) new generator unit for the Large Test Vehicle (LTV). The contractor's responsibility is limited to the delivery of the specified unit; this requirement does not include removal of the old unit, installation of the new one, or on-site testing. The new generator will be required to come with a minimum warranty.
