About this file
This is a specifications document for a federal contract opportunity with Yosemite National Park (NPS) for the supply and delivery of lumber and plywood materials.
Yosemite National Park requires supply and delivery of 42 different lumber and plywood items of various lengths, types, and dimensions for the rebuilding of the Tuolumne Meadows ranger office destroyed by heavy snow. The specifications include engineered lumber products (TJI, LSL, LVL), dimensional lumber in Douglas Fir and Pine (ranging from 1"x3" to 6"x8" sizes), specialty items such as redwood clear all heart boards, T&G flooring, shiplap, and various plywood sheets (CDX, APA roof sheathing, and pressure-treated options). Specific grades are mandated—the NPS will not accept lower grades than specified, including Clear All Heart redwood, Clear Vertical Grain Douglas Fir, Clear Grade Pine with no knots, and pressure-treated lumber rated No. 1 or better. Delivery must occur within 30 days after receipt of order (ARO) to the NPS Warehouse in El Portal, California, with all items bundled and off-loaded by the contractor. Offers must include all associated fees with FOB destination delivery pricing. Delivery must be scheduled 48 hours in advance and will not be accepted on Fridays, weekends, or Federal holidays unless pre-approved. Contractors must account for travel restrictions including vehicle size limitations (45 feet maximum) and one-way controlled traffic 20 miles east of Mariposa, which operate 24/7 due to rockslide repairs, as well as potential Highway 41 closures during inclement weather; these conditions are considered existing and will not qualify for additional compensation.
