About this file

This is an Asset Drop Off Procedures attachment for Invitation for Bids #262913 issued by Sarasota County, Florida, for towing services. The document establishes operational procedures for contractors to follow when delivering towed vehicles to five designated County facilities: Fleet Services Mid County (425 Old Venice Road, Osprey), Fleet Services North County (4310 Ashton Road, Sarasota), Fleet Services Pinkney (5681 Pinkney Avenue, Sarasota), Fleet Services South County (4571 S.R. 776, Venice), and BREEZE Transit (5303 Pinkney Avenue, Sarasota). During normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday), tow truck drivers must contact the shop supervisor or planner/scheduler to determine vehicle placement and provide the County with an invoice copy. The contract term is anticipated to be three years, with the contractor providing towing services for Sarasota County Fleet, Emergency Services, and Transit vehicles throughout the County.

For after-hours drop-offs, procedures vary by location. Mid County does not accept after-hours towing. North County requires contractors to deposit keys and invoices in a lockbox on the building's north end when County employees are unavailable. Pinkney requires use of a provided keypad code, parking vehicles on the northeast concrete pad, and placing keys and invoices in a drop box, with automatic gate closure upon departure. South County requires vehicles be parked by the fuel island, secured, with keys and invoices placed in the drop box at that location if no employee is present. BREEZE Transit maintains personnel availability for directing pickups and drop-offs at all hours. All contractors must comply with the specified drop-off procedures regardless of delivery time.
