SCOPE OF WORK
Assateague Island National Seashore
Install Hydraulic Vehicle Lift in the Maintenance Shop, Building A
PMIS 216394A
06/15/2021
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The vehicle lift, (Lift) is intended to be installed by a technically qualified Contactor in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions and requirements and in accordance with ANSI/ALI ALIS-2001, Safety Requirements for Installation and Service of Automotive Lifts.
1.1 Principle Objective:
This statement of work, (SOW) outlines the requirements for the installation of one, (1) new Stertil Koni Hydraulic Vehicle Lift. Note: The Lift will be supplied by the National Park Service, (NPS) and two, (2) the removal and proper disposal of an existing Hydraulic Vehicle Lift located in the Maintenance Shop, Building A at the Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland District. All work will be in accordance with industry acceptable standards and practices and all state and Federal rules and regulations, and laws. The Contractor will ensure work has minimal disruption to Maintenance Shop operations.
1.2 Project Overview:
The project includes cutting and removing an existing concrete floor, removing an existing floor drain. Installing a new level re-enforced concrete floor slab, testing, and documenting concrete compression strength, installing, and connecting a new floor drain, assembling, anchoring, connecting electrically to existing building power and programing the Lift. The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, equipment, tools, materials, and any other items necessary to complete the work. All required work shall be accomplished by the Contractor even though minor items required may not been specifically mentioned in this document.
2.0 KEY ASSUMPTIONS
All work will be performed under a single contract. The time stated for completion shall include final clean-up of the work site.
3.0 CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Location:
All work will be performed at the Maintenance Shop, Building A at the Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland District.
3.2 Tasks to Be Performed by Contractor, Base Bid:
The Contractor will in accordance with manufactures installation instructions and industry standards and practices:
3.2.1 Cut, remove, and properly dispose of the existing concrete floor 174”x 216” and 2’ x 4’ floor drain.
3.2.2 Install a new level 174”x 216” x 6’ minimum thickness concrete floor slab re-enforced with #4 rebar spaced 6’x 8” with a compressive strength of 4000 PSI. Pin/tie-in new floor slab to the existing floor slab with #4 x 18” rebar spaced 18’.
3.2.3 Test and document concrete compression strength in accordance with ASTM C-31, (Standard Practice for Making and Curing Concrete Test Specimens in the Field, and ASTM C-39 (Test Method for Compressive Strength of Cylinder Concrete Specimens.
3.2.4 Trench, install and connect a new 6’x6’ cast iron floor drain to the existing floor drain piping.
3.2.5 Uncrate, assemble, and anchor Lift with 5/8’x10” chemical anchors to achieve a minimum strength of 1200 PSI, level and torque a min. of 60 FT-LBS.
3.2.6 Install appropriately sized conduit, wire and supports in accordance with NEC to connect the Lift electrically to existing building power.
3.2.A Tasks to Be Performed by Contractor, Bid Option A:
3.2.7 Program and test the Lift.
3.2.B Tasks to Be Performed by Contractor, Bid Option B:
3.2.8 Remove and properly dispose of an existing Hydraulic Vehicle Lift located in the Maintenance Shop, Building A.
References in specifications to any brand name equipment or materials shall be regarded as establishing a standard of quality and shall not be construed as limiting competition. The Contractor may submit proposed equal equipment and/or materials for government consideration during the submittal process of the contract after award.

3.3 Tasks to Perform by Buyer:

3.4 Dates of Delivery:
Within 90 days of award.
3.5 Period of Performance:
Work shall be accomplished during the standard (8) hour day, (5) day week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. local time, excluding federal legal holidays and non-workdays resulting from holidays occurring on weekends. If the Contractor desires to work other than the standard (8) hour day, then the Contractor must submit a written request at least three workdays prior to the proposed performance of work to the Contracting Officer (CO). This written request must state the proposed performance of work, day/days, time/amount of work, and reason why permission should be granted to perform work during non-standard hours.

4.0 CONTRACT COMPLETION CRITERIA
The contract is complete when the unit is tested, found to be operational, and the work has been approved by the COR or his designee.
5.0 ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All labor and materials supplied by the Contractor shall have a one-year warranty. All warranty and testing documentation will be provided to the Contracting Officer.
