About this file

This technical specification document outlines the scope of work for a construction project to replace airfield lights at Aviano Air Base in Italy. The project involves replacing 125 elevated approach lights, 116 runway end and overrun lights, installing new light bases and LED taxiway lights, and replacing motherboards for REIL lights. Specific work includes removing and disposing of old fixtures, installing new elevated and flush-mounted LED lights certified to FAA standards, replacing cable runs and transformers, and commissioning the new system. The contractor must submit materials for approval and provide as-built drawings, certifications, and operations/maintenance manuals upon completion, meeting standards like ICAO and FAA advisory circulars. The pre-solicitation notice provides details on the planned April 2022 solicitation for the project, including the performance period entirely within Italy under DFARS provisions, the construction magnitude between $250,000-$500,000, and requirements for offerors to have an active SAM registration.
