About this file

This is a Scope of Work (SOW) document from the United States Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point for the procurement of a new portable standby generator set.

The primary requirement is to furnish and deliver a commercial-design portable standby generator set that meets NFPA 110 classification standards (Class 24, Type 10, Level 2) with a 200kW/250kVA rating at 480V, 3-phase, 4-pole configuration operating at 1800 RPM and 60Hz. The genset must feature a 24VDC starting voltage, diesel fuel, bottom-entry main power line installation compatible with an existing NSF250N circuit breaker, and must be compatible with an existing ASCO 7000 series Power Transfer Switch for automatic startup commands. The unit requires an integrated battery and battery charger and must be trailer- or skid-mounted for portability via forklift without additional equipment. The installation location is Air Station Barbers Point, Kapolei, Hawaii, with an outdoor, coastal environment requiring commercial-grade materials suitable for such conditions. The contractor must supply all necessary accessories for immediate installation, deliver the genset with both electronic (CD-ROM or downloadable) and hard-copy operations and maintenance manuals, and include warranties. All materials must be new and approved by Air Station points of contact before any substitutions or alternates are implemented. The applicable standards include UFC 3-540-01, NFPA 110, and the National Electrical Code.
