About this file

This document is a work item that describes the requirement to remove spare equipment from the X-McKee vessel, package it for shipment, and provide temporary storage for the AS-39 Class Vessels. It references several NAVSEA manuals and drawings related to the equipment, including turbines, generators, blowers, and propellers. The government will provide some materials, such as a propeller removal backing plate and bolts. The contractor must comply with general technical requirements, package the equipment in accordance with specified standards, and provide progress reports and a final report on the condition of the items. The work is in support of a federal contract opportunity issued by the Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command to harvest parts from the X-McKee, which was sold to Steel Coast LLC. Only Steel Coast LLC has access to these parts.
