About this file

This document is a contractor advisory notice regarding the Army Contracting Enterprise (ACE) transition to the Army Contract Writing System (ACWS).

The Army is deploying new solicitation and contract writing software to replace existing contract writing systems across Army contracting offices worldwide. During this transition period, contractors may receive contract documents that appear noticeably different in formatting or contain information in different locations than previous versions from the same contracting office. The Contracting Office may use multiple contract writing systems to generate and distribute order copies during performance and any subsequent modifications. Contractors are advised that system-generated differences between document versions should be treated as potentially erroneous unless accompanied by explicit narrative designations indicating deliberate changes. Contractors must inform the listed Contracting Officer of any suspected or observed inadvertent or system-generated changes. The Government will correct any inadvertent or system-generated changes, additions, or omissions at no cost to the contractor via bilateral modification. In the event award information is corrupted or mutilated during system migration, the Contracting Officer will issue a continuation contract or order per DFARS 204.1601(c) and DFARS PGI 204.1601(c), carrying forward all terms and conditions from the last-known version, incorporate that version as an attachment to the replacement or continuation contract for future reference, and ensure proper reporting to preserve contractor performance measurement data in systems such as FAPIIS and CPARS.
