About this file

This document is a Sole Source Justification under Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items in accordance with FAR 13.5. It describes a procurement for ambulance transportation services providing Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for the VA Ann Arbor Health Care System, including Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The estimated value of the short-term sole source contract is $588,495.20. The justification cites the incumbent provider, Huron Valley Ambulance Inc., as the only responsible source that can meet the full scope of requirements. A sources sought notice was posted, but only one small business in addition to the incumbent responded. The agency plans to conduct a competitive solicitation for these services after the short-term sole source contract is awarded.

The related federal contract opportunity is for a short-term contract from 04/20/2024 - 10/19/2024 for ALS/BLS ambulance services in the Ann Arbor area, which was awarded to the incumbent Huron Valley Ambulance Inc. for $595,495.00.
