About this file

This document is an Information Security Brief (Version 6) issued by the New York State Education Department (ESD) as Appendix A to the GO-SEMI Connectivity Portal Strategic Advisory and Owner's Representative Services RFP. The brief establishes mandatory security standards and compliance requirements that apply to all vendors, contractors, partners, and third-party suppliers engaged in work with ESD that involves data or IT components. Additional requirements include adherence to GDPR standards for data collection and protection when systems collect or store information from entities or citizens within GDPR governance scope, compliance with NYS and Federal Cyber Security and Information Security Policies and Laws, implementation of monitoring processes for third-party compliance, provision of Identity Access Management with authentication and transaction auditing, documentation of all third-party access to ESD data or information systems, and management of information communications to maintain data security.
