Pandemic Response and Safety Grant Program Round One: Eligible Industry Groups
Small Business Size Standards by NAICS for Eligible Industries
The Pandemic Response and Safety (PRS) Grant Program provides grants to food processors, distributors, and producers that meet SBA small business size standards and farmers markets.
SBA's size standards define whether a business entity is small and, thus, eligible for Government programs and preferences reserved for “small business” concerns. Size standards have been established for types of economic activity, or industry, generally under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Visit the United States Census Bureau (www.census.gov/naics) for more information about NAICS code industry descriptions.
Industries included in this table and farmers markets are eligible to apply for the first round of PRS grant funds.
The number of employees or annual receipts indicates the maximum allowed for a concern and its affiliates to be considered small.
• For the purposes of PRS, all Farmers Markets are considered as “small”
• Producer NAICS codes are listed under Subsector 111—Crop Production, Shellfish Farming, Aquaculture and Apiculture
• Processor NAICS codes are listed under Subsector 311—Food Manufacturing
• Distributor NAICS codes are listed under Subsector 424—Merchant Wholesalers, Nondurable Goods.
Note to processors: If you are a first-line specialty crops processor such as a fresh fruit, citrus, melon, lettuce, vegetable packer or nut huller or sheller, you should select the “All Other Miscellaneous Food Manufacturing” code 311999 to apply.
If you are not a first-line processor (e.g. such as for frozen fruit or juice processing), then you should select the specific NAICS code for this business activity.
