About this file
This document is a statement of task for a Health in Buildings Roundtable to be organized by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine under a sole source contract with the GSA Office of Administrative Services. The Roundtable will convene four times per year with hybrid virtual and in-person meetings for experts and stakeholders to identify and discuss priority issues, research, and best practices regarding health-enhancing strategies and technologies for buildings. Three meetings will focus on in-depth discussions of emerging challenges and opportunities, while a one-day public symposium will help broaden awareness and engage future partners. Participating public and private facilities owners will be encouraged to test health strategies in projects and share results with the Roundtable and research community. Topics identified for deeper analysis may be explored through additional National Academies activities.

Re: Health in Buildings Roundtable
Statement of Task: The Health in Buildings Roundtable will provide a neutral setting for critical stakeholders to identify and discuss priority issues, research, and best practices with respect to health-enhancing strategies and technologies, and their deployment in the planning, design, and management of buildings and the built environment. The Roundtable will convene 4 times per year with experts and stakeholders across disciplines and sectors and encourage participating public/private facilities owners to test health-enhancing strategies in upcoming projects and gather data for research and share the results to the roundtable and research community. Topics that merit deeper analysis can be explored through spin-off National Academies' activities.
All activities of the Roundtable will be conducted in accordance with institutional guidelines described in "Roundtables: Policy and Procedures."
Workplan: The Roundtable will meet 4 times per year, three meetings as hybrid virtual/in-person meetings, and one public meeting. The meetings will be structured such that presentations and discussions offer in-depth discussions of emerging challenges and opportunities.
To help broaden the reach of the Health in Building Roundtable and awareness of emerging issues and opportunities in health-enhancing strategies and technologies, a one-day public symposium will be organized as one of the meetings. These discussions also will help engage future partners and contributors for the roundtable.
Sincerely, Camron Oskvig Director, BICE
